The oldest free library in the entirely of Britain is in Perthshire 😍 I’d wanted to visit @innerpeffray for many years, and finally got along. The volunteers and the Keeper of the Books delight in their role as interpreters of this amazing location. They talked me and other visitors through the 340 years of this libraries service. It was established in 1680, when the wealthy landowner threw open his personal book collection to all those who lived around about. He had something like 400-500 book
